600-TONNE PRESTRESSING HEADS FOR CONCRETE BEAMS

Design and manufacture of a set of prestressing heads with a maximum capacity of 600 tonnes. The supply comprises an active head and a passive head, equipped with perforated plates for positioning and anchoring the strands. This arrangement accommodates different beam cross-sections by adapting the strand layout within the equipment’s permissible load and load centroid limits.

The active head incorporates a hydraulic detensioning system with two lower 300-tonne cylinders and two upper 50-tonne cylinders, all double-acting with a maximum stroke of 400 mm. Manually fitted locking collars maintain the position of the movable strand plate during production. The assembly also includes strand protection boxes and safety screens. Once the concrete reaches the required strength, the hydraulic system enables controlled detensioning before the strands are cut, allowing the prestressing force to be transferred to the concrete.
