Moldtech has been awarded a project by an important precast manufacturer in Sweden for the design and manufacturing of 2 moulds for precast post-tensioned segments for the construction of structural pylons for an important bridge in Umeå, Sweden.
The project is going to be an important landmark in the region and an impressive structure with a cantilevered deck with almost 200m span.
The moulds are built as a stationary table creating a long triangular V shaped form to cast different sizes of precast segments with the same moulds, shaping all possible elements that will form a post-tensioned pylon. Trying to minimize the investment and increase productivity the moulds are designed to quickly assemble different shutters to create all necessary types of segments.
These moulds have been recently installed at the client´s facilities, production is progressing very well and the first segments will soon be taken to construction site to erect and post-tension the pylons.
