Moldtech has designed, fabricated and commissioned two hydraulic moulds for columns to the Portuguese group Mota-Engil.
The leading construction group in Portugal and ranking among the 30 largest European construction groups has international presence in 25 countries in Europe, Africa and South America.
The moulds commissioned by Moldtech, with 15m length each, have double production lines and adjustable section, and will help the client cope with the increasing demand for the construction of industrial buildings in Portugal.
The moulds are equipped with an automatic hydraulic opening/closing system as well as with a pneumatic vibration system and are prepared to cast columns with sections from 40x40cm to 70x70cm on each line.
An important feature is the possibility to cast columns with corbels on 3 sides and easily place these corbel formers in different positions on the moulds.
These moulds have been installed by Moldtech technicians in the main precast plant of Mota-Engil in Portugal, in the city of Nelas.
Both companies are now studying together some new equipment solutions for other countries in which the client has many projects.
