Moldtech delivers 3 special purpose machines to a U.S. customer.

Saving labour costs and increasing productivity are key to become a competitive precast plant. So-called ancillary equipment at the factory can speed up the execution of the tasks and reduce the manpower requirements.

It was with this objective that a Moldtech was requested to design and manufacture several machines to operate on rails for 2 casting beds for pre-stressed slab production, each with a length of 150 meters.

Hereby Moldtech developed the following 3 machines:

  1. Cleaning machine.

This cleaning machine also has a strand cutter incorporated. The machine brushes the table surface and has a pneumatic system for the automatic removal of dirt from the table surface. The cleaning system consisting of rotating rollers, brush, and scraper.

  1. Transport machine.

It is multifunctional as it can apply the release agent, transport the formwork and launch the prestressing strands.

These wagons travel on rails and have their own battery for autonomous movement.

  1. Rolling machine.

It rolls out and unfold the tarp on the casted elements for improved curing. This machine is operated hanging form a bridge crane. The tarp has max width of 3 meters and a specific weight of 0.650 kg/m2.

The 3 machines can operate independently on each of the 2 beds thereby optimizing the cycle times of each bed.
